Luxetenten (LT) Holding B.V. has been acquired by Gladventure B.V.,
Luxetenten provides fully equipped tents which include furniture, bathroom and cooking area to campsite owners and tour operators. The company is a trendsetter in the field of luxury camping and has over the last 10 years, in collaboration with textile company Ten Cate, developed into a European market leader in the tents industry.
The search process
After having been active as a pioneer in the luxury camping industry for 10 years, owner Patrick Damen was looking for a successor to be able to break through at a global level. In order to achieve this, it is important that the buyer has sufficient experience with seasonal companies and disposes of competence on the area of international growth. For the search of the best candidate, Luxetenten has brought in Baker Tilly Corporate Finance.
Baker Tilly has first executed a company analysis to determine what kind of company best suits Luxetenten strategically. Based on this search profile, Baker Tilly has drafted a list with potential parties, consisting of both industry peers and investors. After discussions and negotiations, four offers followed and Patrick – together with Baker Tilly – carried out the closing with Gladventure.
Book money
In 2016, Gladventure owner Hans van der Wind sold his company ‘Van Dijk Educatie’ to the British-American investor Towerbook for € 300 million. The experience Hans has with seasonality in the school book industry and his expertise on the area of international growth make him, together with Ivo van der Vlis, the most suitable buyer to continue the tent success on a global level.
LT Holding B.V. brought in Baker Tilly Corporate Finance and was assisted by Lorijn van Leersum (partner) and Alexander Niemeijer (senior consultant).
