We advised Gemeente Nunspeet on the financial, tax, and legal due diligence as part of acquisition of the shaces in the multifunctiona center Veluvine.

Veluvine

Veluvine is a multifunctional cultural center in Nunspeet, housing, among other things, a theater, cinema, and spaces for social and cultural activities. It serves as an important meeting place where people come together for art, leisure, and community activities. However, Veluvine is not able to operate on a cost-covering basis or carry out the necessary maintenance work. To ensure the continued existence of this center, Gemeente Nunspeet is acquiring the shares in Veluvine from former shareholders Landstede Groep and Stichting Molijn-de Groot. The municipality’s acquisition underscores the social importance that the involved parties attach to Veluvine as a cultural center.

The due diligence

In the context of the acquisition, Gemeente Nunspeet wished to have a due diligence investigation carried out into financial, fiscal, and legal risks, as well as recommendations on how to address these in the decision-making process. The due diligence report formed the basis for administrative and governmental considerations regarding the acquisition.

Role of Baker Tilly

Gemeente Nunspeet was during the due diligence supported by the Corporate Finance, Tax Advisory and Legal Advisory teams at Baker Tilly. The team consist of Jan Kreijkes (Partner Corporate Finance), Bob Harmsen (Manager Corporate Finance), Rachel Lankamp (Senior Consultant Corporate Finance), and Jan Hein Hagemans (Director Tax Advisory).
