We supported St vd Brink with the financial, tax, and legal due diligence investigation and the acquisition financing in connection with the acquisition of Beekman Transport.

St vd Brink

St vd Brink is a family business from Ermelo, active in transport and logistics. What started in 1945 with a horse and cart has grown into a modern transport company with trucks driving across the Benelux. The third generation is now leading the company, and St vd Brink is celebrating its 80th anniversary.

The company has already completed several acquisitions in this sector before. With the acquisition of Beekman, St vd Brink further strengthens its position in the Dutch logistics market. Beekman brings activities in distribution, warehousing, and coachbuilding, which fit well with the existing services of St vd Brink. This creates a strong combination that gives St vd Brink a stronger position in the market and gives Beekman a solid base to grow further.

Role of Baker Tilly

This assignment showed clearly how the different teams within Baker Tilly work together for a client. Led by Jan Kreijkes (Partner Corporate Finance), the Corporate Finance team, the Tax Advisory team, and the Legal Advisory team worked closely together to support St vd Brink through the entire due diligence process.

In addition, the Corporate Finance team set up a broad financing process. Besides the financing of the acquisition itself, the financing for the electrification of the vehicle fleet and the (re)development of the main location in Ermelo were also included. By structuring these parts together, a financing solution was created that not only made the acquisition possible, but also gave St vd Brink room for further sustainability and growth.
